Authorities seize drugs, guns after pursuit in Grimes and Waller counties

GRIMES COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) – An attempt to locate a wanted person in Plantersville led to two arrests and the seizure of narcotics, firearms and more in Waller County Wednesday morning.

According to a news release from the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), investigators attempted to stop a vehicle known to be driven by wanted suspect Darrell Hemann. Hemann was wanted for parole violation and delivery of a controlled substance.

Hemann allegedly refused to stop for an identified GCSO deputy and continued traveling west along CR 302, then south on FM 1774. The GCSO noted that Hemann did so at high speed, “without regard to public safety”.

The chase continued into the next county, prompting the Waller County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) and Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers to assist.

During the pursuit, a passenger in the vehicle was allegedly seen throwing items out of the window.

Police were eventually able to stop the vehicle and arrest the two men.

Hemann was taken into custody on warrants for his arrest, and his passenger Shandi Imhoff was charged with third-degree tampering with evidence. They were both taken to the Grimes County Jail.

Investigators found the following items in the vehicle: methamphetamine, heroin, a pellet gun, a cap gun and “other miscellaneous items.”
