Man arrested for ‘assaulting’ woman on IndiGo Delhi-Chennai flight

Indigo Airlines is yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.

Chennai:

A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a co-passenger on board a Delhi-Chennai IndiGo Airlines flight.

The accused, identified as Rajesh Sharma, 45, is a marble tile installer by profession. He was apprehended after the flight landed at the Chennai airport on October 9.

The woman was returning home after a trip to Jaipur and Delhi. “The accused, who was seated behind her, allegedly touched her inappropriately during the robbery,” a police officer told NDTV.

After local police helped the woman file a written complaint, an investigation is underway.

Indigo Airlines is yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
