23-year-old man pleads guilty to possession of child pornography

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) – The Department of Justice announced that a 23-year-old from Boone County has pleaded guilty to possession of prepubescent child pornography.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on Jan. 17, Trenton Alan Cremeans, 23, had approximately 115 images and 22 videos of child pornography on his cell phone. The Justice Department said Cremeans admitted that the images and videos included depictions of prepubescent children engaging in sexually explicit behavior.

Cremeans also admitted to downloading the images and videos online and using his cell phone to search for child pornography and related information online using specific search terms, the Justice Department said.

The Justice Department said Cremeans is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 16, 2025, and faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, at least five years and up to lifetime supervised release, as well as a $250,000 fine. .

Cremeans must also register as a sex offender.
