The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released the Kenya Primary Education Assessment (KPSEA) timetable.

The exams will begin with a rehearsal on October 25, followed by the main exam, which will take place from October 28 to 30.

“The time allotted for each event is indicated next to the name of the event and no additional time should be allowed. The time spent reading the questions is part of the time indicated on the question paper, except when special instructions on the paper indicate otherwise,” the KNEC said.

The board has asked supervisors and invigilators to ensure that candidates are provided with personalized mark sheets bearing their correct names and assessment numbers.

Candidates will take the mathematics test on the morning of the first day of exams which will be followed by the English test mid-morning.

On the second day, candidates will take the integrated science test in the morning and the Kiswahili/Kenyan sign language test mid-morning.

On the last day, candidates will take the creative arts and social studies test in the morning.

KNEC further asked teachers to ensure that candidates clearly understand the instructions given below and are aware of the sanctions for assessment irregularities or misconduct.

“You are not allowed to leave the assessment room before the end of the period allocated for the test, unless you have special permission from the supervisor,” warned candidates.

He indicated that a candidate who commits an assessment irregularity in a test will have the results for the entire subject canceled.

He added that any person who has access to the assessment materials and knowingly reveals its contents, orally or in writing, to an unauthorized party, whether a candidate or not, would be violating Article 27 of the KNEC Law No. 29 of 2012 and the punishment shall be imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years, or a fine not exceeding 2 million shillings, or both.
