Oviya’s MMS clip update: Actress files legal action against ‘morphed video’, files police complaint

Tamil actress Helen Nelson aka Oviya is in the news after reports emerged that her ‘private video’ has been spread on social media. While the ex-Bigg Boss (Tamil) contestant handled the situation in a cool and calm manner, winning the hearts of her fans, Oviya has now filed a complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner regarding the leaked video.

As reported by News 18, Oviya’s manager said the video was morphed and was created by someone with the intention of damaging her reputation. Additionally, her manager also said that she is committed to taking legal action against those responsible for releasing the morphed video. He, however, refrained from disclosing specific details about the accused due to the sensitive nature of the matter.

For those who don’t know, the alleged private video featured a woman with a tattoo on her shoulder similar to Oviya’s. After the video circulated widely, it sparked discussions on social media with the screenshot of the video. Even social media has been flooded with various speculations about the authenticity of the leaked private video. Initially, Oviya remained a mother. She later posted a photo of herself on Instagram and when users made provocative remarks in the comments section, she treated it cool. She indirectly addressed the situation and responded to users, demanding the full private video, with her comments such as “Next time bro” and “Enjoy.” However, she has not released an official statement regarding the alleged MMS scandal.

Well, this incident has once again raised concerns about invasion of privacy, cyberbullying and exploitation of celebrities’ personal lives.

Notably, Oviya has become a well-known name in the South film industry. Although she won the hearts of movie buffs with her acting prowess, her popularity was catapulted after her participation in Big Boss: Season 1 (Tamil).
