Complaint against Northamptonshire police chief investigated

As first reported by NN Journal, externala formal complaint had been filed against him.

The office of Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Danielle Stone released a brief statement: “We can confirm that we have received an allegation from a member of the public regarding Chief Constable Ivan Balhatchet.

“In accordance with legal requirements, we have referred this matter to the IOPC Fund.”

The IOPC said: “We can confirm that we received a referral from the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner in early September.

“As required, we are investigating an allegation against a senior officer at Northamptonshire Police relating to voter registration.

“We have evaluated the available evidence and currently have no intention of serving any notice of misconduct. We are working to complete the investigation as quickly as possible.”
