‘Sorry and I love my India’: SUV stolen from Delhi found in Rajasthan with apology notes, leaves authorities perplexed

A bizarre incident took place in Rajasthan when an SUV stolen from Delhi was found abandoned with three handwritten notes apologizing for the theft. The notes, which read “Sorry,” “Call the police” and “I love my India,” left authorities perplexed and the public amused.

A Scorpio vehicle without a registration plate was found in Napasar town of Bikaner, as reported by NDTV. Police revealed two notes were left on the rear window. A note read: “This car was stolen from Palam, Delhi. Sorry,” and included the vehicle number, “DL 9 CA Z2937.” The second note simply read: “I love my India” in a heart.

A third message, placed on the windshield, asked anyone who spotted the car to notify the police. It read: “This car has been stolen from Delhi. Please call the police and inform them. Urgent.”

The vehicle, parked suspiciously near a roadside hotel, was first spotted by a resident, who then reported it to authorities on Sunday. As the number plate was missing, police used the car number mentioned in the note to trace the original owner, Vinay Kumar, a resident of Palam Colony in Delhi. Kumar had reported the car stolen and filed an FIR on October 10, according to NDTV.

The car, discovered more than 450 kilometers from Delhi, was allegedly involved in illegal activities before being abandoned. A team of Delhi Police and the vehicle owner reached Bikaner. The car has since been handed over to the Delhi Police to determine whether it was used to commit crimes.

Investigators are working to trace the stolen car’s journey, trying to unravel the mystery behind it and the curious behavior of the apparently remorseful thieves.
