KALYAN: In a unique initiative in Dombivli, the town known as cultural capital of Maharashtramany residents of Dombivli have established this identity by working tirelessly.
These Dombivlikarswho carry the city of Dombivli across the seas, are idols for others. To honor such eminent personalities who contributed to the city, the area outside the Dombivli Railway Station was cleared of landfills and illegal constructions.
The surrounding area has been cleaned and beautified, with beautiful walls decorated with photographs and information about the achievements of prominent people in the city. This ensures that Dombivlikars are always aware of their achievements and that the next generation of Dombivlikars can be inspired by their work.
The magnificent walls are adorned with photographs and writings of various dignitaries, including educationist Surendra Vajpayee, literary SN Navare, PB Bhave and many others.
The station wall was beautified by installing huge arches at the station. Towards the station to the west, where there were previously illegal dumpsites and illegal shops, the municipal corporation removed them and created a suitable space there.
A railway protection wall was built there, and these photos are placed on this wall.
PWD Minister Ravindra Chavan, who supervised this development work while inaugurating the project, said, “Dombivli city is famous as the cultural capital of Maharashtra. Chavan said, “Our city Dombivli is the first city in the country to honor personalities who contributed to the development of the city in this way. Everyone who comes to Dombivli city from any corner of the world, on seeing these murals, will surely feel that a similar concept should be followed in their city.
The people of Dombivli also appreciated this decision, especially the younger generation who were not familiar with these eminent personalities.
