Edo Guber: AP Candidates’ Petitions Tribunal on Okpebholo Victory

The Accord Party (AP) candidate for the September 21 governorship election of Edo State, Bright Enabulele, has alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) manipulated the results in favor of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo.

Speaking to journalists in Benin after submitting his petition to the Electoral Petitions Tribunal, he claimed that the results were manipulated in Unit 1 of St. Savior Ivbiyeneva Primary School in Ward 5, Government Area local Ikpoba/Okha, where he voted.

According to him, he was surprised to have obtained a zero score. Enabulele asked the court to declare him the winner of the election or annul the entire election. He said: “There was fraud, intimidation and deliberate announcement of erroneous results by the CENI. »

Enabulele said he was not against the winner of the election, but against the process leading to victory and argued that the BVAS, meant to reduce human interference, had been manipulated.

He said the court order obtained by the PDP was flawed because the BVAS is supposed to serve as evidence in court when the court begins sitting.

Enabulele said: “The case concerns the INEC which organized the elections and Okpebholo. “The reason for this challenge is due to non-compliance with the electoral process. “My mandate was stolen; there was fraud, intimidation and deliberate reporting of false results.

He added: “We tell Nigerians that the most important thing is how our leaders emerge. “If the process is bad, we will never be successful.

“I am not against the winner of the elections, but against the way he came out of it. “If anyone wins, let him win correctly, if he loses, let him lose correctly.

“We cannot allow the votes of the people to be stolen. “It doesn’t matter if it’s 100 or 200. For me, my mandate was stolen. “They should declare me the winner or cancel the election.

“I was told that PDP got a court order to inspect BVAS, to me again that is false. “No one should have access to the BVAS because it is supposed to be used as evidence in court. »
