Authorities investigate burglary and arson at same Poplar Bluff residence

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KFVS) – Authorities are investigating a burglary and structure fire that reportedly occurred at the same residence in Poplar Bluff.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, on Saturday, October 12, officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Vine Street in reference to a structure fire. Poplar Bluff firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

After investigating, the police allegedly found signs of a break-in and determined that there had been a burglary and that a fire had followed.

This case has been referred to the Fire Marshal’s Office for an arson investigation to follow, while the burglary investigation remains ongoing within the Poplar Bluff Police Department.
